Favorite Love-That-Could-Have-Been Songs

14th February 2013

It’s Valentine’s Day. I never cared about this holiday, even when I was in a relationship. I dated a guy once who would get me V-Day flowers and chocolates a couple of days before or after just because he did like the holiday. And, I guess, me. Then for a number of years, my friends and I hosted Anti-Valentine’s Day parties. Those days are gone, and while for many years, I loved being single, these days I’m a bit more melancholy about it, listening to sad love songs. I know. Feel sorry for me. 😉

So on this day of pink and red (I hate those colors together, by the way), candy, hearts, and red roses that don’t smell good, I thought I’d share some of my favorite sad love songs. Enjoy.

The Dixie Chicks – “A Home”

Blind Pilot – “Three Rounds and a Sound”

Rufus Wainwright – “The Art Teacher”

Etta James – “I’d Rather Go Blind”

Linda Ronstadt – “Adios”

Norah Jones – “Wish I Could”

And last but not least, a more hopeful one.
Al Green – “Belle”
