National Poetry Month: It’s a Party!

2nd April 2013

I am woefully behind on my blogging, partially because in my position as the director of my university’s writing center, I was responsible for planning our event for National Poetry Month.

We’ve been really busy with our ordinary tutoring and workshops, so the last couple of weeks have been nonstop. Tonight we’re having a Blackout Poetry Party, and I’ll be running around like a chicken with my head cut off making sure everything goes off without a hitch (honestly, I feel like I’m going to prom and my date might not show up – it’s so tough to get college students involved at my uni!). Next Tuesday I’ll have full details, but I wanted to leave you with a couple of teaser photos and announce some past-due winners. I also wanted to thank everyone who commented, tweeted, shared, or blogged about last week’s post, A Reader’s Responsibility. It was overwhelming to see the response, and I’m glad so many of us could have such a great conversation.

Without further ado, here are the winners:

Of Flimsy Little Plastic Miracles: Kristin Shafel of My Little Heart Melodies

For Bloggiesta Mini-Challenge (a $15 Book Depository gift credit): Lettie at Above Average Below Special

Congratulations! I’ve emailed both Kristin and Lettie about their prizes.

In the meantime, have a great Tuesday, and here’s hoping I’m not the only gal at tonight’s party…
