Bloggiesta: Lots to Do!

Twice a year, book bloggers take out a weekend from our blogging schedule to do some behind-the-scenes work in an event called Bloggiesta. And let me just say, it couldn’t have happened at a better time. A couple of weeks ago I started doing a bit of maintenance but decided to keep the big stuff for this weekend.

If only there were a house-cleaniesta, a yard-cleaniesta and other assorted weekends devoted to getting things cleared away! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am super behind in reviews, so that’s my #1 goal today. But instead of telling you, I’ll just show you:

This list on the left is books to be reviewed. (Agggh!)

The list on the right is blogging maintenance. It’s daunting, but I hope to at least get a good start on all of these and participate in a few mini-challenges.

  • Caught up on comments
  • Updated GR Reading Challenge Widget
  • Caught up back six months on Goodreads, Amazon, and Barne s& Noble reviews thanks to Shanyn at Chick Loves Lit.
  • Update ‘2013 Books’ page
  • Found out what was wrong with my Feedburner feed
  • Updated/enhanced my Google Drive blog spreadsheet thanks to Lauren at Lose Time Reading.
  • Caught up on email – my inbox is my nemesis
  • Cleaned house on Bloglovin. I was following a lot of defunct blogs or blogs that I really don’t enjoy as much as others.
  • Checked out the post about increasing traffic using Stumble Upon thanks to April at Books & Wine.
  • I’ve also visited a host of other blogs who are signed up on the Bloggiesta main page!

5:30 p.m.ร‚ย  – I’m off to get ready to visit a friend for dinner, but I’ll be back! I still have tons of reviews and blurbs to prep. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d also love it if you guys have recommendations or suggestions on how to make this blog better. Or if you’ve come across pages or links that don’t work or that give you issue, please let me know.ร‚ย I’m off to bloggiesta!

  • You have so many books to review! Just remember, take it one day at a time!

I love your mini-challenge, but thankfully I don’t need it since I’ve been a loyal Bloglovin-er the whole time! ๐Ÿ™‚

Good luck with all of your goals!

Here is my Bloggiesta To Do List!

    • I cringe in shame when I look at that list. Oh. My. Gosh. Thanks for the encouragement!

      Yea for another BL lover!

      • Also, maybe do some quick reviews for the ones you “dread” writing. I do that sometimes when I am just in a review funk to get some out of the way.

  • Good luck with your list! I could totally use a house-iesta weekend ๐Ÿ˜‰ I happen to love the clean look of your blog. The only thing I suggest is that you add your 2013 Goodreads goal widget.

    • And that’s on my list! Thank you. I only *just* noticed that a couple of days ago. Ah, well..

  • I’m fairly certain that I would not participate in a house-cleaniesta because I can’t do that from my couch. But that doesn’t mean I don’t need one! Good luck with all of your goals and challenges! I hope you check out my Bloggiesta To Do List or join my mini-challenge about getting involved!

    • Haha! Yes, the couch is a good place to be. I’ll definitely head that way. I’m so glad we still have tomorrow. Today has been busy.

  • Briana

These are all great goals. And you have such pretty handwriting, on such pretty paper!

Email is on my list, as well. On the bright side, we often get happy emails as book bloggers, right?

    • Why, thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

And yes – in fact, I just got a great email from an author. That always lifts me up a bit.

  • Wow, you are progressing nicely! Congrats! It’s fun, isn’t it?

You do have very pretty writing, and are very organized. Best of luck to you on your book reviews. Hopefully see you on the last chat tonight!

  • Charlie

Well done, that’s a good amount finished already. And the catching up on review elsewhere, that must have taken a lot of time (and possibly been quite tedious), I guess it was best to get it done sooner than leave it until later.

  • Lots of goals, goodluck!

    • Thanks, and same to you!

  • You got a lot done, nice job! I got probably 2/3 of my list done, which I think was pretty good.

    • Heck yeah! I’m actually still plugging away. I got several reviews drafted early this morning. My goal is to get back to having posts scheduled. Seems like forever since I was able to do that.

  • Looks like you had a productive Bloggiesta!

  • heidenkind

Look at your list! I didn’t get everything done I wanted to, but I did get the major thing done: catching up on my cocktail blog! So it was a successful bloggiesta as far as I was concerned.
