Fashionably Late…Fridays at Home

26th August 2011

Why am I so late? A. I’m tired. B. I’m exhausted. C. *crickets*

First off, raise your hand if you feel like you ran a marathon this week. *raises both arms* If you have children who go to school or you teach or work in a school, you know this is crunch time. The first week went as well as can be expected when you don’t have textbooks until the first day of class and international students are getting situated. I had a ball today taking a couple around campus. I can already tell I am going to really love these students.

Today, I gotta be honest: no post prepped. When I got home, though, I got some crazy burst of energy and rearranged all the furniture in my living room. The room has been bothering me, and I realized today it was because I kept planning to add a fireplace, so I originally put the couch in a really odd position…and promptly forgot about it. Plus, after painting the outside of the front door, I realized the inside of it needed some work. Expect a full room reveal in a couple of weeks. I’m pretty excited about it.

The rest of this weekend will be devoted to blogging prep, teaching prep, cleaning house, and maybe a little reading. Plus, I need to pick out five posts for my BBAW nomination. So excited!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Any odd jobs or honey-do lists floating around your house? I’d love to hear what you’ve got planned.

  • I know what you mean about a crazy week. No kids or schooling here, just trying to actually finish the process of moving from North Florida to Virginia Beach. That hussy Irene is getting in my way, and now I have to wait till Sunday to do the 10 hour drive. Originally planning to leave today, but now…not so much.

Congrats, congrats, CONGRATS on the BBAW nomination! Well-deserved, my friend! Well-deserved!

    • Oh my gosh! As if a huge move like that isn’t already a pain. Wow. I hope all goes smoothly and you guys get some rest this weekend. BE safe. I’ve been through plenty of hurricanes. Batten down the hatches!

And thank you! I am so very excited. I told my mom – just being nominated means so much to me. Every time I think of it, I smile.
